About · The company

A family wood turningcompany in West Yorkshire.

Hand-turned spindles, newel posts, pilasters, table legs, bowls and bespoke commissions — since 1995, by Dan, with no one else on the job.

What we believe
From beds and tables to kitchens and fitted wardrobes, we understand the importance of wood turnings in designs — to achieve the best results.
The story

How we work, in five short paragraphs.

We have been in the woodworking business since 1995, making all sorts of spindles which have been incorporated into all kinds of furniture.

Located in West Yorkshire, we are a family wood turning company — flexible, friendly, and happy to turn any wood to your own designs. We supply large or small amounts of spindles, newel posts, kitchen pilasters and bed posts, to trade and public alike.

Each piece is completed by hand, or on our router lathe for barley-twist and fluted work. As specialists, we work closely with you to accomplish quality results — not a catalogue transaction.

Dan completes the turnings by hand with no one else involved in the job, so you have the consistent level of excellence you expect. We use a wide range of timbers — Pine, Oak, Beech, Maple, Sapele and Cherry — and are happy to source more exotic pieces if required.

We do bowl turnings and inside-out turnings as special-occasion gifts, but the bulk of the workshop is staircase parts and furniture turnings to trade. Our prices are competitive — bulk orders the best value for money.

Begin a commission

Send a sketch. We’ll turn the rest.

A pencil drawing on the back of an envelope is enough — or send a photograph, or pick up the phone. The first sample piece is turned and sent for sign-off before any volume run begins.
